5 Globalisation Writing Task.

Write about your opinion of globalisation. Try to use some of the vocabulary you learned earlier in this lesson. In your answer, you could include some of the following topics:

  • How globalisation has benefited the world.

  • The problems caused by globalisation.

  • Whether or not you think the world will be more or less globalised in the future.

This issue of globalization is important since it is a process that has been taking more and more strength and where the developed countries are the ones that have made progress in all respects and have benefited a lot, but the underdeveloped countries and the poor countries for a On the other hand they were favored but on the other hand they did not, since developed countries are introducing their own politics, culture and economy to them and do not give them the opportunity to be different and grow by themselves, since they are practically forcing them to adopt a single policy. Globalization creates opportunities, but at the same time it creates problems. Therefore, one must avoid falling into social passivity. Citizens must commit to social movements and ethical projects that promote the improvement of the quality of life. This makes the difference between social classes more noticeable since nobody cares about the other, but only cares about seeing himself benefited.

Globalisation has become a very polarising issue. Some people argue that it is the cause of many of the problems faced in the world today, while others suggest it is the solution to these problems. What are the advantages and disadvantages of globalisation?

 Advantages:

  • Opening of markets, as in the European Union.

  • Media, especially the Internet.

  • Growth and mergers between companies.

  • Privatization of public companies.

 Disadvantages:

  • Greater economic imbalances and concentration of wealth: the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer.

  • Excessive Increase in Consumerism

  • Unemployment: change of labor for Industrialized machines

  • Possible disappearance of biological and cultural diversity.
